This year’s May 5th Christ Central Institute Graduation was especially exciting and well attended. Not only did we celebrate one student, Leah Whitesel, earning her Associate Degree in Community Missions and three other students, Adrien Pilot, Daniel Ndiyo and Sara Titone receiving their 1-year certificates, but we also were able to award thirteen Level One and sixteen Level Two Community Chaplaincy Certificates to those completing classes with us this spring. What God is doing with our school continues to amaze us! But that wasn’t all. Many folks joined us as well to celebrate the 21st Anniversary of Christ Central Ministries.
Several speakers brought words of hope and encouragement as well as testimonies of God’s faithfulness. Pastor Jimmy Jones delivered a challenging commencement address, while Mrs. Janet Perrigo reminded everyone not to eat “the first marshmallow.” Pastor Michael Hutchins, recipient of the Second Level Chaplaincy Certificate, shared how his town council had recently unanimously elected him Community Chaplain. He becomes the first of many to follow in this strategic area of service. Missions Directors Al and Robin Kulp shared the good things God has been accomplishing at both the Central Midlands Transitional Retreat in Lexington and the Resource and Solution Center in Columbia. Of course, as is typical for any CCI or CCM gathering, great food and fellowship followed.
